So many things are changing right now, and we wanted to reach out to our sisters in the Greater Kansas City area with local updates and to remind you that there are sisters here willing to help. It’s a great time to reconnect with sisters you haven’t talked to in a while. Please let us know via the website or email if you have a need or know a sister that might need some help.
We will continue to provide updates as we get more information. Keep well and try to use this time to slow down and focus on the all the good things we do have.
Annual Founders’ Day Celebration will be virtual
Thursday, October 8, 2020
With the health and safety of all our our sisters in mind, we have decided to move our Founders’ Day Celebration Dinner, held annually in October, to be a virtual event this year.
Please join us for a first ever ZOOM virtual Founders’ Day event to celebrate our Continuing Excellence award, honor our 15-, 25-, 50-, 60- and 75-year members, announce our AXO Woman of the Year, and see who wins the AX bracelet for becoming a dues paying member before the event.
Please RSVP to receive the Zoom Link to the event.
This group is currently meeting the first Tuesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. for conversation by Zoom since COVID-19 prevents large groups to dine together at restaurants. Zoom meeting information will be provided by email to the Lunch Bunch Group list. Once conditions allow for larger groups to dine at local restaurants, a list of dates and restaurants will be provided. This information will be made available by email newsletters.
Contact Ruth Britton 913-722-1150 or minrebit@gmail for more information or to receive Lunch Bunch emails.
Mu Mu member assistance grant
The Mu Mu Board has set aside funds to assist our fellow sisters who are facing financial difficulty from changing life circumstances due to the COVID-19 impact. Mu Mu is attempting to provide support to our local members struggling with financial difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, related school and work closures, and general economic situation.
Member Assistance Grants are need-based grants available to alumnae members of Alpha Chi Omega in good standing residing in the Greater Kansas City area. Grants are only considered for meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, or medical expenses. All applications will be handled with discretion. We will attempt to handle applications as fairly and quickly as possible, but please know that there may be a delay in notifications as we work through the application.
