Join us for our virtual 2020 founder’s day celebration!
Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 7:00 pm
With the health and safety of all our our sisters in mind, we have decided to move our Founders’ Day Celebration Dinner, held annually in October, to be a virtual event this year.
Please join us for a first ever ZOOM virtual Founders’ Day event to celebrate our 21st consecutive Continuing Excellence award, hear updates from Rose Brooks and our summer virtual Silence the Violence fundraiser, collegiate chapter news, honor our 10-, 25-, 50-, 60- and 75-year members, announce our 2020-2021 AXO Woman of the Year, hear Mu Mu updates and see who wins the AX bracelet for becoming a dues paying member before the event. We will also be awarding the Traveling Lyre Trophy for the collegiate chapter with the most alumnae in attendance on our call. Phi won last year, who will win this year? Join us as we celebrate our sisterhood!
Location: Your own house
Please RSVP by Monday, October 5th. Once you RSVP, the Zoom link, meeting ID, and passcode will be sent to you.
To celebrate our sisterhood, we will continue the tradition of collecting gift cards to assist our sisters who will be selected throughout the year as Mu Mu Alpha Chindness recipients. We will also be collecting funds for purchasing supplies for Rose Brooks Domestic Violence Center. If you wish to contribute to either or both of these, please send to Bev Nichols, 15019 Rhodes Circle Lenexa, KS 66215. All donations are appreciated. Thanks for your generosity.
2019 Founder’s day dinner REcap
Mu Mu celebrated Founders’ Day at Milburn Country Club on October 24. We were honored to have 59 in attendance, representing alumnae from 15 collegiate chapters. Phi chapter won our new award for having the most members in attendance. We celebrated nine 50-year, two 60-year, and one 10-year members, along with continuing to celebrate our 105th Anniversary. We also presented a check for $8,352.60 and donations of baby supplies to Rose Brooks Center, our local domestic violence shelter. These funds were raised at our Silence the Violence event last spring and donated through the AX Foundation LPI (now CI) program. It was a lovely evening. Thanks to all who worked on it.
