Welcome from the President

Welcome to a new membership year with Mu Mu. As we begin our programming, I’m pleased to share recent convention highlights from AXΩ groups in our region. I was honored to represent the Mu Mu Alumnae Chapter as our voting delegate at the 63rd Alpha Chi Omega Convention in Dallas this July, themed In Step with Alpha Chi. It was an exciting convention, and we had 8 Mu Mu sisters in attendance.

Mu Mu was recognized with the Continuing Excellence Award and celebrated for achieving a new level of giving. We reached the Orpheus Roll, having contributed more than $250,000 to the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation.

Our sisters across the region were also honored:

  • Sigma Sigma Alumnae Chapter (St. Louis)Seeking the Heights Award for Member Engagement
  • Delta Epsilon, Southeast Missouri State UniversitySeeking the Heights Award for Chapter Growth
  • Omicron, Baker UniversitySeeking the Heights Award for Chapter Innovation

Thank you to every sister who paid dues, attended events, supported fundraisers, and helped make our chapter thrive.

Whether you’re a recent graduate, new to Kansas City, or returning to AXΩ after time away, Mu Mu welcomes you. The Alpha Chi bond lasts a lifetime, and your alumnae experience can be whatever you want it to be. Your Mu Mu sisters are here to support you.

We offer a wide variety of activities, including monthly programs, GAMMA daytime meetings, Lunch Bunch, Young Alum and MIX (Millennial–Gen X) outings, Mom & Tot gatherings, and fundraising/altruism events for family and friends.

Thank you to the 116 sisters who paid dues last year — your support makes a meaningful difference. If you haven’t yet renewed, please consider becoming a dues-paying member. Dues support programming, collegiate chapters, National and Panhellenic dues, Mu Mu activities, and scholarships. We are grateful for every sister who pays dues, serves on the board, attends programs, and contributes to our fundraisers. If you’re not receiving our monthly e‑newsletter, please sign up through our website.

Please check our calendar for upcoming events, including our 21st Annual Silence the Violence Fundraiser on September 17 at Canyon Farms Golf Club in Lenexa. This event is always a wonderful time and supports causes close to our hearts — Rose Brooks Center and the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. Over the past 20 years, we’ve raised more than $250,000 for these organizations. Ticket details are available on our website.

Our Welcome Back Event will be held on August 27 at Kim Bartak’s home, and we hope to see many of you there. If you have questions or need a ride, please reach out to me or any board member. Event schedules may shift, so please watch for email updates or check our website.
